Flight News Air Corps Lowers Cadet Eligibility Rules

The Army Air corps relaxes entry rules per Adrien Van Wyen, allowing one year of college plus a mental exam for flying cadet applicants. Unmarried US citizens ages 20 to 27 with half a degree’s credits and strong health may apply. Applications at the CPTB program and Industrial Arts offices.

Election Set For October 10 In Kent Class Officers

Kent will hold elections on Thursday October 10 to choose class officers homecoming queen and student council members. Applications due by October 4 at 4 pm in the Dean of Women’s office. Joe Michaels named head cheerleader. Wayne Leroy Bob Cain Milan Piotrowski and Ralph Braden keep leadership roles.

Beginning its first year of activity the Student Forensic Association starts a membership drive this week opening with an initial meeting tonight and continuing through the year. Gallagher West Named Leads in Freshman Play The Whole Towns Talking

Ray Gallagher and Ruth West were chosen to star in the Freshmen Players production The Whole Towns Talking announced by Harold Hansen. The comedy follows Chester Binney from a small town in the city to help Henry Simmons, who plans to pass his business to Binney and arrange a romance with Simmons daughter Ethel.

Rybak Re-elected Non-Greek Proxy As Party Convenes

Independent party members elected officers for the year. James Rybak was re-elected president and Mickey Dover the vice president with Dorie Snyder as secretary-treasurer. About 35 representatives attended and committees named for publicity election commuters and residence halls. A meeting was set for Wednesday in Merrill Hall room 109 at 4 pm.

New Licenses Today

Kent police department announces new driver licenses required today. All drivers must carry the license or face a 500 dollar fine or up to 10 days in jail, or both.
