International party plans discussion for university students

An international party event on December 1 will feature a panel discussion by five foreign-born students from Yugoslavia Poland China Puerto Rico and Iran and five American peers. They will debate What We Recommend For Programs in Higher Education. Lowell Hostetler will speak on George Gershwin’s contribution to American music.

Kappa Sigma Chi Leads Booster Drive With 100 Percent Membership

Kappa Sigma Chi is the first Greek group to achieve full 100 percent Booster club membership, a record held every year since the club’s founding. Six other Greek groups have declared intent but have not yet contributed. Leo Damore was appointed to fill a vacancy on the executive committee. The Booster constitution and treasurer’s books are open to members. A Varsity Ball dance committee was formed with Shirley Marks as chair and members Bob McClelland Peggy Mac Millan Barbara Novack and Al Smith.

Two Showings Set For Messiah

The annual Han del s Messiah will be presented in the university auditorium on Sunday December 11 with two performances at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Student soloists announced December 1. Faculty soloists accompany the Kent Symphony Orchestra University Chorus A Cappella Choir and Portage County Choral group under director Caro Carapetyan.

Portrait Set For Thursday Opening at University Theater

The university theater group premieres Family Portrait December 1 to 3 at 8 15 p m in the university auditorium with a matinee December 3 for the Northeastern Ohio High School Drama clinic. Kent State Among Ohio Colleges in Enrollment Ranking

Kent State University ranks fourth among Ohio colleges and universities and second only to Ohio State among state universities in enrollment. Ohio State leads with 22,400 students, followed by Cincinnati, Western Reserve, and Kent with 6,904. The data cover 43 institutions from a survey by the Ohio Association of Collegiate Registrars.

Snow Queen Contest Seeks Coed Photos for TSU Snowball

Today is the final day for coeds to submit photos for the Snow Queen contest judged by Ronald Reagan. The winner will reign at the Tau Kappa Snowball on December 2 at Twin Lakes Country Club, with tickets $2.50 a couple and music by Andy Imperial and his 12 piece orchestra from 9 to 12.
