Christmas Dance Postponed For New Year Ball Plan

The Christmas ball scheduled for Saturday December 8 is postponed to January 5 pending funds and orchestra availability. Don Moore, chair of the joint dance committee, cites lack of funds and late approvals as delays. Betty Offhaus notes the New Year tradition may resume, with the event run by the men's union and women's league.

More than 40 persons are expected to attend a Northeastern Ohio Supervisors' Continuing workshop at Kent Hall Room 119. Harry Fulton of Cleveland will discuss School Building problems with two Cleveland experts from RCA, while Dean John L. Blair notes the meeting also covers veterans' education in relation to secondary and adult high schools.

Sadie Hawkins Dance Features Colorful Comic Costumes

Beverly Myers and Jay Doty topped the 200-dancer Sadie Hawkins event in Wills gym with Daisy Mae and Lil Abner prizes. Contestants dressed as Lil Abner characters competed under Dogpatch decor as Harold Redman judged. Awards went to Dorothy Tartara and Bob Walker for Mammy and Pappy Yokum, with multiple honors for others and mock nuptials led by Mary Schenk and Dick Cone.

Freshmen Seek Student Posts as Petitions Close

Twenty four freshmen filed petitions for freshman class and student council offices with elections chair Barbara McDowell by noon yesterday. Five seek president, four vice president, four secretary, five treasurer, and six for the council. Names await eligibility check. poster space will be allotted after 4 p.m. today. Emerson Is Thanksgiving Chapel Orator At University

The Reverend Chester B. Emerson of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Cleveland will give the annual Thanksgiving address before the faculty and students at 11 a m in the auditorium. The university women's glee club will lead two hymns and the program includes violin solo Arioso by Bach with Virginia Nicholson. Harold E. Miles will play the organ and accompany. Classes are excused for the event and attendance will be taken.

Dr. Harold B Law a 1934 KSU graduate and RCA research staffer helped develop the image orthicon tube used for infrared light televised scenes. NBC's John F Royal hailed its sensitivity enabling daylight to night coverage. Law also led student council and campus activities at Kansas State University.

The Independ ent Students association sponsors a bond booth in the Kent theater lobby to promote the Victory Loan drive. The campaign began Monday with theater manager John Palfi’s permission to set up the booth. Palfi acts as bond issuing agent in Kent.
