Goethe Festival to feature six departments Tuesday
Six university departments sponsor a Goethe Festival on Tuesday November 22 commemorating the poets 200th anniversary. The two part program opens with Dr. Joseph Remenyi speaking on Goethe the Poet and Universalist at 11 a.m. in the auditorium. The 8 p.m. program features music drama and art of Goethe s time including the Kent Symphony orchestra with the university orchestra conducted by Walter Cerveny and a Faust scene by dramatics students led by Earl Curtis. cast includes Jim Iacovazzo Rick Uray Gene Meckler and performances by Mrs A Laten Carter Robert Foulkes Ralph Hartzell Arline Markussen and Eleanor Pudil with the A Cappella choir. Refreshments follow in the art gallery hosted by the International Relations club and the German club with home economics support.

Education Professor to Speak on German Students After the Holocaust
Dr. Roger Shaw associate professor of education will present German university life after the Holocaust at Kent Methodist church Sunday November 20 at 7 p.m. Slides will show German classes before and after the bombings and depict Shaw’s role in reorganizing Munich universities and expanding their curricula.

Hungerford To Get Doctorate Degree
Associate Professor Harlan M. Hungerford awaits his doctorate from the University of Michigan. He holds an A B and an A M from Oberlin College earned in 1924 and 1931. Hungerford has served 14 years on the English faculty at Kent. His thesis explores verb head construction and its modifiers in modern English.
