Thirteen university students have been notified of inclusion in the current issue of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Moore and MacDonald are among the upperclassmen featured for two consecutive years, with two more names to appear in the annual directory for a second year.
Sophomore Ramona Swaim and senior Al marie Edwards lead a student trend curling hair with surplus bobby socks as metal curlers prove scarce. The fad gained national publicity via Acme News Photo, with rubber curlers from Mrs. Albert Altman of Detroit and a list of participating students and honors.
Prominent Dogpatch mayor J Gurgle warns residents that this Saturday’s Sadie Hawkins event at Kint State University will require attendees to pay their own expenses and dress in the era’s style. He urges women to secure a student activity card and bring a date, even hinting at dramatic measures to ensure participation.
Members of the 161 geography class will tour the Goodrich rubber plant Saturday morning. Contact Dr Hallock Raup, department head, for remaining vacancies. The two hour visit requires students to provide their own transportation.
Mike Friedland, a junior and former ISA vice president, becomes ISA president after Claude Miller resigns. Dave Ryan will act as vice president until next spring elections. Friedland plans more activities including a rummage sale hay ride and support for the Victory Bond drive. next ISA meeting is Monday November 19.
Dr. Daniel W. Pearce spoke to the Avondale school P T A in Canton on Tuesday evening. His talk centered on parent and child problems and offered guidance to the organization.
Organizations may nominate a candidate for the Terese Green queen title. Submit an 8x10 photo by November 16 to the Terese Green shop at Willow and Main. Votes by students run November 30 through December 7 from displayed photos. The winner appears at the Christmas ball and in Chestnut Burr ads.
The International Relations club convenes an important business meeting this evening at 7 p m in Room 210 Kent Hall. All members and prospective members are urged to attend, per president Marian Jessel.
Elaine Chamberlin president of Cardinal Key says eligible junior and senior women with 2.5 averages may list participation in university organizations. Arlene Riggle chairs eligibility. Penny boxes will be carried the week of December 17. Gladys Ulch chairs the group.
George Keith resigns as master of ceremonies for the Frosh Frolics scheduled for Tuesday November 27. The freshman entertainment committee plans four MCs plus four gay men, with a 30 girl chorus to open and about ten other acts on the bill.
