YMCA Drive To Begin

A three day YMCA membership drive starts today at the university Student Y M C A booth. Bob White, president, says the aim is to build mind body and spirit and invites all students to join regardless of race color or creed. Plans include hayrides dances and wiener roasts. Tracksters Shape Up for Akron Kent Journal Meet

Alan Freed, Akron disc jockey, will provide foot by foot narration from Rubber Bowl before the Akron Kent football game. Kent State journalism squad under Prof William Taylor trains at 5:30 a.m. with a 500 yard cross country run. A five member women’s auxiliary will join for two events. The event starts at 7 p.m. Friday.

University flying club will meet at 7 this evening in 109M to consider the second draft of the new financing plan. The group aims to promote inexpensive flying rates for students and faculty while many former GI flight students chose to discontinue flying under the new system.
