Journalists duel in first ever track fest between Akron and Kent State

The Akron and Kent State journalism schools stage an all journalism track event at the Rubber Bowl. Runners compete in events named Pulitzer 440 yard relay and Hot Scoop Steeplechase. A women’s auxiliary and quirky events like copy pencil relays add novelty.

Fred Waring Broadcasts Busy Campus Show

Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians opened a three day campus broadcasting session before a large audience of students and faculty. The program featured the glee club and 35 piece orchestra with familiar tunes and a Marine Corps birthday salutes. Waring closed with thanks to KSU and a 10 a.m. broadcast schedule was announced for today and tomorrow.
