In Beat Akron week a pep rally and bonfire are slated for Friday at 5 p m on Rockwell field. Ralph Braden head cheerleader announced the campus event aims to unite students with Beat Akron slogans.Enhanced campus security will curb early Akro n students from approaching the University campus. Freshmen will gather wood 3 to 5 at Wills gym entrance for the bonfire.

Kent State University lines up 12 football defense portraits for a state contest sponsored by Standard Oil of Ohio. Competing with Ohio University, John Carroll, Ohio State, Baldwin Wallace, Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster, the school seeks the grand prize of 500 dollars and a 200 dollar prize for the winning college. Dale Rooks supervised the photos with models from arts and speech students. Marvin Hayman wrote a 300 word explanation of the photos. Entries are due November 22 with awards on November 29.

Enrollment Loss Is Low In State
The University of Akron saw enrollment decline by one percent this semester, lower than the Kent loss. Akron and Mount Marie Junior College recorded the smallest drops in the Association of Ohio College Registrars data, while Our Lady of Cincinnati College posted a 33 percent rise. Case School of Applied Science rose 1.7 percent as Bowling Green State University fell 6 percent and Western Reserve University declined 3 percent.

Five Groups Enter Intramural Debate

Herring To Open Forum At University Tonight
Hubert Herring the Latin American traveler will open the first university forum at 8 15 tonight in room 317 Mc Gilvrey hall.
