BG Dominates Class Posts In Student Elections At State U

BG takes 14 of 16 class posts splitting council seats with Nu K Blue and Gold wins most sophomore and freshman offices. Mike Tangi becomes senior class president with Nick Dellerba as write-in vice president and Marilyn Hayes secretary. Nu K’s Louis Gerber leads junior class with two votes as BG fills most other posts. Some results and women’s league men’s union tallies pending.

Brazilian dance group to perform at KSU in Ohio

Fifteen students from the University of Brazil will present a dance concert at 8 tonight in the MPE building. The program features folk, Brazilian, and modern dances and is the first such presentation in Ohio. Directed by Senora Maria Helena Pabst de La Earp, the show tours 25 American colleges and universities, with an admission of 50 cents.

Approximately 60 Coeds Enter Queenship Contest

About sixty University of Akron women entered the 1951 Homecoming queen contest. Judging in Moulton music room at 7 30 pm will select the queen and two attendants, with the winner announced at halftime of the KSU Akron game.

Audio Visual Confab Set With Ohio Leaders

About 50 audio-visual directors from Ohio high schools and colleges will meet for an all day conference Friday. Principal speakers include Dr. Edgar Dale of Ohio State University and Clyde Miller the state director. A Thursday evening session will preview motion pictures and film strips made by Ohio schools. Dr. Roy Wenger of KSU hosts.

Born Yesterday opens four night Homecoming play in Kent

The comedy Born Yesterday opens in Kent for four nights November 7 to 10 at 8 15 p m in the Auditorium. Tickets available with an activity card UT membership. Marcia Hill stars as Billie Dawn with Dick Johnson as Harry Brock and F Edward Harris as Paul Verrall. The cast includes Helen LaVerne Main Dale Owens Eddie Brooke Bill Morris and others in a lively satire of ambition and ignorance.

Radio Stations Air Zip Battle Between Kent and Akron

WAND Akron Canton will broadcast the Kent versus Akron Homecoming game with Ralph Pidcock and WKSU-FM also airing the contest. Pre-game warm-ups start at 1 45 p m and the game at 2 00 p m. Pidcock is joined by Jim Russell handling engineering duties for WAND.

Kent to Sell Special Homecoming History Program

The pictorial history program covering Kent athletic teams will go on sale Friday and be sold at Saturday’s game by Chi Pi members. It features photos from the Hall of Fame in the MPE building and costs $1 with advance sales planned in dorms and fraternity houses.

University Community Chest hits new high amid drive

The University and the University school raised a record 2350.02 for the Community Chest this year, up 336.67 from 1950. Notable gifts include 25 from the Interfraternity council, 25 from the Pan-Hellenic council, and 25.37 raised by Blue Key and Cardinal Key. Richard C. Rotzel thanked students and faculty for the success, while Bob Wilbur praised the University’s contribution, noting the city drive rose sharply from last year.

Mums on sale for homecoming game fundraiser

Orders for homecoming mums are being taken in the Booster booth and in 227 Sto pher hall. Deliveries will be made Friday evening. The University Twin bands sponsor the sale.
