Journalism Professors To Attend Conference

A. A. Crowell acting head of the school of journalism and Michael J. Radock assistant professor will travel to E. Liverpool Wednesday Nov 14 to speak at a tri county meeting of the Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Press association. Host for the conference is the Keramos Echo three time winner of the Stater cup for the best mimeographed high school paper.

Two Kent State professors contribute to the October issue of the American Sociological Review. Dr William H Form Assistant Professor writes Status Stratification in a Planned Community based on Greenbelt Maryland research. Dr Delbert W Miller Associate Professor presents a mass communication note How Our Community Kent Heard about the Death of President Roosevelt. Papp Baskin Speak At Plant Bond Rally

National Social Greeks May Be Encouraged At Kent State

At a student council meeting at Kent State University hints were dropped that national social fraternities and sororities may be formed there. The policy committee discussed the idea and suggested sending a representative to a National Pan-Hellenic council meeting. No action was taken yet.

Christmas Ball Date Moved to Dec 8

The annual all university Christmas Ball was rescheduled from Dec 15 to Saturday Dec 8 to avoid a clash with the revived All- Greek dance. Sponsored by the men's union and women's league, the event runs from 9 to 12 at Wills Gymnasium with music by Russ Harmon's orchestra from Painesville. Women receive 1 oclock permissions.

Journalism School Adds Two Courses

The curriculum committee led by Dr. Walter Simmons approves two new journalism courses: Ethics in Journalism taught by A A Crowell may start this year, replacing Readings in Journalism, and Newspaper Editing a two hour sequence for all journalism majors and minors under Murray Powers. Publicity and Trade Papers is reduced from five to three hours.

YMCA To Organize Elect Year’s Officers

University YMCA holds its first meeting of the year this afternoon at 4 in 302 Merrill Hall. Officers will be elected with Cal Logan informing all male students are invited to attend. Logan, president of the Wesley Foundation, hopes for a large turnout.
