Photographs May Win $150 for KSU Contest
Kent State University invites entries from photographers and writers for a $150 prize in a competition tied to the Kent State and John Carroll football game. Musical pageant portrays wars and immigration through historic scenes
The program opens with a Revolutionary War Concord scene as the University band plays Yankee Doodle. It features Lee surrendering to Grant at Civil War’s end and ten Union with ten Confederate soldiers to The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Immigrant dancers present a melting pot Virginia reel. Kent American Legion in service uniforms appears as Over There plays. Finale centers on a stamp defense theme and Stars and Stripes Forever closes. The Dean R. E. Manchester Manhood cup will be awarded this year along with additional trophies.
