A versatile program of classical pieces showcased baritone Joseph Lupkiewicz and contralto Anna Lupkiewicz in the first University of (location) faculty recital. Professor Fred H. Denker led as accompanist, with the School of Music chair overseeing the event.

Nobel physics laureate Dr. Arthur Compton will address a university assembly on Monday November 10 at 2 PM in the auditorium. He will also lecture at 8 PM as part of the University Artists series. Compton, born in Wooster Ohio, won the 1927 prize for energy as matter and the assembly program is led by Prof. Alvin J. Miller.
The drive to raise $166 more for sending university publications to armed servicemen this year totals $78.35 with $13.41 collected on Thursday. Howard Doehla and Fred Prasse lead the effort, Doehla at $14.35, as a scrapbook records letters from men in camp about The Stater and the Duchess.
Dean Arden Allyn announced steps toward forming a local Delta Sigma Pi chapter. Visiting professors H. H. Maynard of Ohio State University C. H. McGregor of Western Reserve University and Dean Raymond E. Glos of Miami University evaluated the curriculum and met potential students and faculty at the University.

University theater opens its first round of auditions for The World We Live In to be staged December 4 and 5. Director G Harry Wright announced further tryouts for the forty cast parts will be held today at 4 pm in the auditorium.
