Students Placed On Probation By University Committee

Two upperclassmen were placed on indefinite disciplinary probation after actions from the university discipline committee chaired by Dr. Weldon M. Williams. One junior must pay for library restoration, plus a $5 fine and weekly dean reporting. The senior faces summer suspension, campus car ban, and probation for the spring quarter.

Civil Service Offers Posts For Engineering Aids

The United States civil service commission announces an examination for engineering aids to fill positions in Washington D C and nearby areas and some mobile field units nationwide. Salaries range from 2152 to 3727 dollars yearly with applications obtainable at post offices or civil service offices and due by June 30 in Washington.

Will Form Ohio Group of AAUP

An Ohio conference of chapters of the American Association of University Professors will be formed, announced by Prof. E. Turner Stump who is elected executive secretary and president of the local chapter. Paddle Pat ter Regatta Trials Held Today and Tomorrow

Participants in the Rowboat Regatta must take compulsory swimming trials from 4 to 5 p.m. at the university campus today and tomorrow. Each organization may qualify four swimmers, but only two may race. Tickets costing one dollar grant four hours riding at Brady Lake Park and 11 hours dancing, with pickup at the Stater office or via Phi Beta Phi members.

Students Stage Music Recital At University Today

Twelve students perform in a student recital from 4 to 5 30 p m in 309M featuring string brass piano and vocal pieces. University students are invited. On Friday at 8 15 p m Carol Shindledecker soprano presents her senior recital in 309M with accompanist Gerald Forbes.

Ulrich Wins WGAR Radio Singing Engagement

Peter Ulrich a senior in education won a week long singing engagement on WGAR after a judges panel on Audition and Ambition last Saturday. He will perform soon after his June 10 graduation, having just given a senior recital and impressing judges with diction tonal quality and voice originality.

Wanhope Building Opens Tonight At University Theater

The Wanhope Building a modern symbolic drama debuts tomorrow at 8 15 p m in the university theater and runs through Saturday. It originated in 1947 in New York and was later staged at Western Reserve University. An amateur group presents the production with music by Al Daniels and Don Erb and a HPE modern dance sequence directed by Eleanor Mellert.

Summer Registration Opens Next Wednesday at University

Easier summer registration starts next Wednesday and runs through June 7. Students may register weekdays 9 to 12 and 1 to 4, with about half an hour per person. Special students register June 20 and first session begins June 21.

At a KSU social committee meeting final arrangements for Campus Day on May 28 were set. Festivities begin 12 45 p m with the K Queen presentation, coronation at 1 30, parade 2 30, songfest on the campus lawn at 7, and the May dance 9 12 in Will gym.
