Scholars honored as University marks Ninth Scholarship Day
Eighty high achieving students were praised during the Ninth Annual Scholarship Day as officials from the American Association of Universities began an inspection of the UNC campus. Dean W. W. Pierson led exams of McGilvrey hall and will assess education and business colleges, the library, and more. Dr. Grace Sherrer urged scholars to apply knowledge to improve the world and warned against overemphasis on mere mechanics in teaching. Dorothy Hudson received honors during the event.
