One of eleven women chosen from 76 at Moulton hall prepares for the 1948 May queen crown. The schedule lists a K-girl painting, Maypole crowning, parade, alumni banquet, songfest, and a campus dance with floats along Main Water College route and judges stand near Rockwell library.

Students to Receive Scholarship Awards at 16th Scholarship Day

Scholarship day will honor students at 11 a.m. May 26 with citations for 3.5+ GPAs. Dean John Reed Spicer will speak on A Liberal View of Liberal Education. George Bowman will award honors with Phi Beta Kappa recognition. Faculty will also honor two chemistry majors and present various departmental prizes.

Sophomore Roland Patter Wins Cleveland Singers Club Scholarship

Roland Patter, a liberal arts sophomore, receives a $200 scholarship from the Singers Club of Cleveland board of directors. He has been active in the A Cappella choir and the music club.

Woodwind Trio Recital Broadcast on WAKR at 10:45

A woodwind trio recital for clarinet bassoon and flute airs from the Radio Workshop studios at 10 45 a m Saturday on WAKR. The program features Walter Piston Three Pieces and two transcriptions of Shostakovich piano preludes.

Prom Night At Meyer's Lake Park Moonlight Ballroom

About 300 couples are expected to attend the Junior Senior Prom in Moonlight ballroom Meyers Lake Park Canton. Ray Robinson will provide music from 8 30 to 12 with Frank Carroll presenting the key to the school to Phil Brustein during intermission. Dom DeSimio will host and Lenny Taylor will sing Junior Prom. Betty Peiffer will play Deep Purple on piano. Chaperones include Dr and Mrs H D Byrne Miss Martha S Robbins and several faculty members.

Recital at University to feature Bach Mozart and Handel

Faculty recital in the university auditorium Tuesday at 8 15 p m features soloist A L Dittmer bari tone director of the Mens Glee Club with accompanist Mrs Irene Drake. Classical selections include Handel Bach and Mozart pieces plus contemporary works by Barber Diamond and Taylor.
