Dr. Loren S. Hadley announces a new August registration for fall plans to reduce September lines. Advisers may review courses before quarter end and schedules for the fall will be ready after the first summer session. Students unable to register in August may still use September registration.
Four hundred university men and women attended an outdoor fashion show on the front campus west of the library with the theme Around the Campus Clock. Groups included eye openers off to class chow hounds off for the weekend tea sippers and dinner date bait. Elsie Jakubjansky was serenaded by Gamma Tau Delta as she wore a blue taffeta outfit.
The Memorial Stadium drive at Kent State University Canton branch raised 56.91 dollars. Richard E. Evan, mathematics instructor, led the drive with student chairmen Richard Barnard and Bill Shipe of Alpha Phi Omega coordinating contributions collected in May.
University students and faculty are invited to the Graduation Hop dance Friday May 20 from 9 p m to 1 a m at East Market Gardens Akron. General chairman William S Lakin leads the event with Andy Imperial and his orchestra. Tickets cost 3 per couple from the ROTC office in the Hub or from William Bruggemeir Walter Flack or Hank Newell. A corsage and bid are included.
More than 700 seniors will receive degrees at KSU 36th commencement in Wills gym on Saturday June 11 at 10 a.m. Dr. Ralph W. Lockman of New York City will be principal speaker.
Dr. Loren S. Hadley directs student advising and urges students planning summer work to schedule appointments so registration plans can be prepared. Some students are receiving notices, and the advising office board lists group appointment times.
Two cadets named outstanding in their class at the army inspection on Tuesday are Gilbert Du Bray and John E Carbaugh. Selection rests on excellence in manual of arms and drill.
The ninth annual Rowboat Regatta offers four hours of Brady Lake rides and one and a half hours of dancing with a single $1 ticket. Admission to the 5 30 to 7 p m dance is included. Free haywagon transport to Brady Lake Park is provided for those without transport. Entries for the bathing beauty queen contest must be in by May 26 at the States office with rules listing eligible entrants and required details. Final judging will be by Jim Smith W Dan Oana Art Garner and Bob Burdock.
