Physicist Dr Swann to Speak at Open Assembly Monday
Cosmic-ray expert Dr W F G Swann will lecture in the University auditorium at 10 a m on Monday May 21. Sponsored by the Assembly committee the event is free to the public. Swann, born in England in 1884, leads the Bartel Research foundation and serves as senior advisor to Franklin Institute laboratories.

The bulletin details rules at the Union under director Raymond K. Moran. Sleeping in lounges and other rooms is forbidden. No solicitations are allowed and women students should not wear blue jeans in the lounge or dining room. Room reservations require 24 hours notice. Sign size is limited to 14 by 22 inches and all posters go through the director.

Addison Reed Presents Senior Recital with Beethoven and More
Addison Reed student of Eleanor Pudil will give his Senior recital in the Union ballroom tomorrow at 8 15 p m accompanied by Gene Hartzell who will also perform a solo Beethoven Sonata in A Flat Op 26. The program features Mozart Schubert Brahms and De Bussey with three Negro spirituals and a Negro convict song closing. Reed studied four years at Kent is a music education major and active in the A Cappella choir and band.

J-Students Earn Awards at University Publications Banquet
More than 100 students were honored at Akron Mayflower hotel for service on university publications. John Koshar won the Paul Ryan achievement cap and the Chi Pi trophy, George Way received the Matt Fenno trophy, Phyllis Slack won the Lambda Phi trophy, and Ed Cliney earned the Kappa Alpha Mu plaque. Burr queen Mary Elaine Long and several attendants were also recognized. Norman Shaw of the Cleveland Press spoke on Criticisms of Today's Press. Professors Taylor and Spicer accepted copies of the 1951 Chestnut Burr for President George A. Bowman.
