Lila Sprague dark haired former Miss Penny Drive was chosen May Queen of 1943 at a Saturday ceremony in Wills gymnasium. Accompanied by Hope Byrne and Florence Riehl of Gamma Sigma Phi, she was crowned by Marguerite Cook as Stu dent council vice president. Her court included Virginia Dodd and six others. The pageant followed by singing awards noted Beta Gamma sorority and Kappa Mu Kap results.

Blue Key hosts a Saturday May 15 carnival in Wills gym raising funds for Penny Drive by giving 10 cents per ticket to publications and letters for University men in service. The event runs 7:30 to 10:30 p m with spook houses games taxi dances and burlesque acts directed by Art Wilson Lila Sprague and Miss Penny Drive presented by student organizations.

Ballot System To Be Used For Student Elections
Balloting for the Student council representatives will use the preferential system at Thursday elections. Election committee chairman Ber nie Harris said voters will mark first to fourth choices beside nominee names. The Kent Stater announces its fifth annual Rowboat Regatta on May 29 at 6 p m on the Cuyahoga river. More than 1000 spectators attended last year as 13 boats competed for rotating trophies.
