Sarmir Injured in Softball Practice Accident
Joe Sarmir, a popular university senior and president of Kappa Sigma Chi, was injured Wednesday when a foul tip shattered his glasses, sending glass particles into his eyes during a fraternity practice game. He underwent surgery late Wednesday night and was reported in "fairly good" condition by St. Thomas hospital in Akron.

Barbara Berg of Lakewood was chosen queen from 83 entrants in the Kent Stater's seventh annual rowboat regatta held Saturday May 17 in the university auditorium.
