Dana Danforth and Bob Chaka weigh-ins highlight a sophomore class hosted all university dance in the Student Union from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday. Women receive 12 30 a m permits, with admission 90 cents to 1 22 for heavier guests as profits go to the 1950 Heart fund.
Cinderella directed by Prof. Earle E. Curtis will be shown Friday at 8 15 p.m. in the university auditorium for students and National Forensic League attendees. Tickets are 25 cents and on sale in the hall between Kent hall and the Atrium. Nancy Beatty leads the cast with Caroline Arnold Rosemary Poor Joan Lequillon Mac Wardwell Ed Spence Gene Bickley William Applegate Elaine Crandall Norma Remmy Geral dine Carroll and Jim Tschantz. The junior class announces the Hard Times dance at the Chestnut Inn Garrettsville on Friday March 3 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are 50 cents per person with free admission for juniors who have paid dues. It is an all university event with Stardusters providing music and 2:30 permits for attending girls.
Campus beards vie for three trophies in the winter quarter board-growing contest. Judging occurs March 9 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium with Al Newman as master of ceremonies and several judges including Robert Morrow Earl J. Kelly and Frederick E. Davidson.
Marty Pfinsgraff class president asks all seniors to pay their dues now. Payments can be made at the corridor table between Kent and Merrill hall. Senior class officers and committees meet Wednesday at 4 p.m. in 205SU.
Creditors awaiting Student Council approval of the allocations committee minutes from February 15 are to be paid after unanimous open session approval of a revised set. Former chair Herb Kaley defended the committee while noting inefficiency in the funds system and advocating revision of the rigid percentage method. ROTC cadet colonel Hank Newell urged access to social committee minutes to clear up campus day concerns.
Dr. Vernon Nash founder of Asia’s first journalism school at Yenching University Peiping China will speak on The Prospects of a Governed World in the auditorium Friday at 11 am He is vice president of World Federalists Inc and director of Special projects He helped draft The Alternative to International Anarchy and wrote Educating for Journalism It Must Be Done Again and Yes But Within recent years he has spent much of his time lecturing and serving on voluntary committees for postwar planning.
