Summer students must complete trial programs with advisers by Friday June 3 or register June 20. To avoid mass autumn registration, leave approved programs with advisers by Friday June 8. Autumn schedule dates to be announced before quarter end. First term registration runs June 1 to 6.
The screen version of Hamlet will be shown to students at reduced rates today and tomorrow at Schine's Kent theater. Tickets are obtainable from Prof E Turner Stump or Prof Chester Satterfield. Olivier stars and has an Oscar for the film.
Delta Upsilon statues and Delta Gammas Orchids for Our Queen take top trophies in a 2500-strong parade. Phi Sigma club wins independent float prize with Government Through Education. Camilla Caine named May Queen with Lilian Torgler as Delta Upsilon sweetheart. Kappa Sigma Chi wins fraternity prize.
Registrar C. E. Atkinson announces classes end Thursday June 9 at 5 pm. Commencement will be Saturday June 11 at 10 am. The note contrasts a previous article claiming Friday classes.
Boats for the Rowboat Regatta practice will be available at Brady Lake park tonight from 6 to 7 oclock. Entries may continue until June 3. judges will be named tomorrow.
The Alpha Phi Beta Manhood Key award will be presented again this year after graduating seniors’ averages are computed. Originating in 1933, the honor goes to an outstanding senior for scholarship character and leadership. A committee of faculty students and fraternity members will judge.
Dave Kalan piloted a small aircraft from Kent to Mansfield when the engine failed over Cuyahoga Falls. He performed a forced landing in a wheat field one mile south of Stow, bringing the ship in undamaged and escaping unharmed.
Dr. L. H. Munzenmayer announces that all seniors must complete and return appointment forms A and H before graduation. Seniors who have not submitted the forms should do so immediately.
