Choir Presents Bach Music By Kent State Summer Choir
The Kent State University summer choir under Caro Carapetyan performs Bach works Monday evening July 25 at 8 15 in the university auditorium with soloists Roland Patzer Pete Ulrich Evelyn Kolesar and Marjorie Barrett. Arline Markussen plays piano for Cantata No 146 and cantatas 38 78 and 135 are featured. Cantata 146 opens with a sinfonia as the chorus enters later. Bach wrote nearly 300 cantatas as church music.

Planes Crashes in Dayton Kill at Least One
A twin engine flying boxcar crashed in Dayton during an emergency landing near a parking lot fence. Fire and a collision with 12 to 20 parked autos caused multiple vehicles to be flattened and set ablaze, officials said.

Ohio Senate Grants 5 Million For KSU
The Ohio senate approved biennium appropriations totaling 4,948,000 for Kent State University after House cuts. A 1,000,000 loan was approved for student union or dormitories to address housing shortages. Officials said funds will build two dorms, one for men and one for women.
