Army Colonel Seeks Future Officers on Campus
Colonel A L Tuttle of the 5th Army Corps returned to Kent State University for interviews with applicants to the unassigned branch of the Army Enlisted Reserve. Twenty three men were accepted as officer material based on appearance, records and personality. Other branch selections include Duane Hague and Stan Mose for Flight Officers Reserve with further results pending.

Visual Education Talk At Training School Today
A demonstration and panel discussion on visual education methods will be at 1 30 this afternoon in the Training School led by Miss Hazel Gibbons from Ohio State University. The session is part of the current conference and is open to students not enrolled in the conference. Thirty people have registered for the reading conference, including two summer students. Similar conferences are also being held this week at Ohio State University and Ohio University with Bowling Green and Miami universities having recent sessions.

Lt. Ronald Nash known as Pat Nischwitz by University friends was reported as killed in action while on duty in the Far East. A 1938 graduate of the college of education he majored in industrial arts and belonged to Sigma Tau Gamma.

Band Clinic Festival Draws Northeastern Musicians
Musicians from Northeastern Ohio schools join University students and band directors at the University music department Band Clinic. The five day festival begins Monday with 8 to 10 registration followed by a band rehearsal for about 70 clinic members. Drums major Roger Lee replaces Forrest McAllister for baton twirling instruction and will lead daily classes and the field concert. Lectures by Cleveland Symphony players George Rowe Erwin Miersch and Constant Omers enrich clinic sessions. The festival ends Friday with a free public concert at the recreation area behind Wills gym.

Baum's Scholarship Day Speech To Be Published
