New Exceptions In Registration Rules

Registration for spring quarter follows winter procedures with changes. Freshmen and sophomores dismiss on March 17, graduates seniors and juniors stay to register March 18. Freshmen register March 28 and sophomores on March 29. Upperclassmen return March 30.

Students Aided By Loan Fund

University students from Youngstown are eligible for financial aid from the Student Loan Fund established by the Youngstown Rotary Club. The fund assists those who would abandon college without help. applicants must have at least two years of college work and a satisfactory scholastic record.

Top Hop Tickets Go On Sale Today

Tickets for the Top Hop tomorrow evening go on sale today and tomorrow until 5 p.m. Priscilla Thompson of the social committee notes tickets cost 1.50 per couple at the gym door. Dancing starts at 9 p.m. Shep Fields will perform and Ruth Ann Gallagher Miss Kent State will be presented at intermission. Chaperones include Mr and Mrs William J Weiskoph Dr and Mrs Hallock F Raup and Mr and Mrs Earl Kelly.

Pot Sales Fall Short of Goal for Kent States Drive

Yesterday's pot sales at Kent States netted Stadium Drive 13.97 by 5 p.m., below the 30 goal of the campaign originators. A generous donor gave a dollar to the blue potty in the Stater distribution box. Daily totals will be published in the Stater until the campaign ends.

Nine Faculty and Staff Changes at the University

President George A. Bowman announced nine personnel moves. Richard G. Roetzel will be director of admissions on February 1, with Benjamin G. McGinnis becoming associate coordinator of veterans' affairs. Other appointments include Winton C. Koch as graduate assistant in commerce and several clerical staff changes and leaves of absence.

Miss Kent State winner and student council picks named

Ruth Ann Gallagher Miss Kent State with 381 of 774 votes breaking a tie from the last council race. Jackie Duke wins junior class secretary over Shirley Edwards in a 141 to 124 vote. Murray Campbell elected freshman Student Council replacement as Campbell leads Bell 74 to 53 and Reidel 53, Grubbs 49. Gallagher, Sebring Ohio junior in kindergarten and elementary education, was homecoming queen attendant last fall.

Ukrainian Language Club Variety Show Tonight in Moulton

A Ukrainian Dance ensemble featured on television in Cleveland will appear in a language club sponsored variety show tonight at 8 p.m. in the Moulton music room. Performances include costume dances and Mexican dancing. Joan Fiocca and Bill Fields play a piano clarinet duet. A German puppet show will feature voices of the German club. Directed by Prof. Bernard Mikofsky with assistants Doris Merton, Betty Jane Abbott, Chris Lardis, and Paul Schall. Refreshments follow.

Pork Barrel Eliminations Scheduled Next Week

Pork Barrel eliminations begin Wednesday at 6 30 p m in the auditorium per chairman Paul Snyder with three sororities and likely three independent groups slated for removal. The one dorm and three fraternities to be dropped will be decided Thursday at 6 30 p m with Friday evening at 6 30 p m set for the Pork Barrel performance.

University A Cappella Choir Plans Akron Sacred Concerts

The university A Cappella choir directed by Caro Carapetyan will give two sacred music concerts in Akron churches on Sunday January 30. They perform Domine Quid Multiplicate a new triple choir by de Lasso for the first time. Sponsoring churches are First Congregational at Union and East Market streets at 4 p.m. and Goodyear Heights Methodist at Hillside Terrace and Newton Street at 7 30 p.m.

Students Gather for Annual Council Meeting

All students are invited to a council meeting in 419 McGhee at 4 p.m. today. The session occurs once a year to demonstrate student council procedures.
