The University auditorium hosts the second Faculty Recital at 8:15 featuring an original Miles piece and Lupkiewicz Telemann arrangement. Harold Miles presents the original work while Mr Lupkiewicz and Mrs Lupkiewicz perform eight duets with Prof. Denker on piano accompaniment. They have recently performed in Rochester with civic orchestra and opera.

OWA Opens Share the Ride Station and Victory Book Drive
The Office of War Activities held its first meeting and voted to establish a Share the Ride station and a Victory Book campaign on campus. A registration booth opens Thursday from nine to four thirty in the Student Council office for students needing or offering rides.

Taft to Speak on U S Emergency Problems at Kent
United States Senator Robert A. Taft will arrive from Washington to address a 10 a.m. all student assembly on national emergency issues and their effect on students. He will be hosted at a 7 a.m. breakfast by Portage County Republican leaders at the Robin Hood. He is slated to address the Akron Kiwanis Club at noon and the Akron Chamber of Commerce in the evening before leaving Kent after the assembly.

May Offer Victory Gardening Course at University
The War Activities Council discussed a spring quarter non-credit course on Victory Gardening recommended by Dr. Harry A. Cunningham. It would meet twice weekly and be open to students, faculty, and townspeople. University President Dr. K C Leebrick proposed Curtis property as garden ground, divided into about 50 lots for plowing and fertilizing, with possible academic credit pending curriculum committee review.
