Two-Year and Three-Year Teaching Certificates Extended

Blair of the college of education announced wartime rules allow two year temporary and three year provisional teaching certificates in industrial arts, elementary, business education, and home economics. Freshmen and upperclassmen in education will discuss plans tomorrow at 4 p m. Issuance had been set to end in September 1942, but the war shortages extended the transition period.

Stater Positions Open For Second Semester
Applications for editor and business manager of The Kent Stater for next semester must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, announced William D. Taylor chair of the school of journalism. Forms are available in Merrill Hall room 114. The publications committee will meet Wednesday January 28 to consider applicants.

Band Gives First Concert Over WADC
University band performed in a radio workshop studio for the first in a series of 12 programs on WADC. Selections included two pieces for Ohio high schools in the North eastern Ohio musical festival on April 10 and 11. Judges named Earl E. Smith George Waln and Eugene Weigel. Marine Corps Offers Kent State Students Commissions in Reserves
The Marine Corps Reserve plans to visit Kent State in March to offer 21 students from Kent State a three month training path to second lieutenant. The program demands age limits from 18 to 24 depending on class year and requires strict physical and character standards. Dates for the campus visit have not yet been announced.
