Northeastern Ohio Drama Clinic Sets Attendance Record

About 375 high school students attended the Northeastern Ohio Drama clinic despite severe weather, a record compared with 34 last year. Delegations from 40 schools joined Miss Judy Steup of Fairview high school Dayton and 50 from Newton Falls.

New Doctors Join KSU University Dispensary

Two new physicians join the Kent State University dispensary on a temporary basis. Dr Woodrow Murphy, a Kent pre medical student turned Western Reserve graduate, did an internship at Charity hospital Cleveland and served in the Army in the Philippines and Korea before returning. Dr Gloria Hilker, Northwestern and Illinois Medical School graduate, interned at Charity hospital New Orleans and will pursue internal medicine study in Chicago after leaving Kent.

Sophomore Class Pictures Slated At Chestnut Burr

Sophomore class portraits for the Chestnut Burr will be taken today and tomorrow at 10 a.m. 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the art gallery. Students who missed Monday appointments may attend today at the listed times but those who did not make appointments will not be photographed.

Training Bill Rejected By College Association

The Association of American Colleges rejected the Universal Military Training bill at its Cincinnati meeting led by Dean John R. Spicer. It also opposed a tax exemption proposal and urged studying discrimination while proposing a tolerance-promoting commission.

Student Council Debates 1500 Allocation Reallocation

The Student Council rejected a 1500 allocation for a university chair and a 75.78 grant for Stadium Drive operating expenses. Martha Lansinger urged funds be reallocated while a special committee, led by Tom Davey, will study options including another fund or a campus entertainment program.

A Student Steering Committee appointed by the central drive committee will coordinate campus fundraising for stadium funds. Led by Tom Davey the group includes Herm Speck Peggy Pinkerton Roger Howard John Thomas Jeanne Cook and editor John W. Finn. The committee will direct student efforts while debate continues over reallocating a $1500 surplus without student approval.

Leader ship Training for Church School Workers Ends Tonight

The final session of the Leadership Training for Church School Workers is tonight at the Training school. Dr Joseph Politella lectures on Christian Thinking and Christian Living. Other instructors include Rev Ronald Reed Miss La Donna Bogardus and Miss Ruth Lister who teaches Christian education at Schauffler College Cleveland.

Byler and Wife To Give First 48 Faculty Recital

Prof. and Mrs. Kenneth Byler of the music school staff present the first 1948 faculty recital tonight in the auditorium. The program begins at 8 15 p.m. with violin solos by Byler and piano accompaniment by his wife. The program features Vivaldi and Beethoven sonatas along with Bach Toccata in D Major Chausson Poeme and works by Debussy and Ravel. Eyler is an assistant professor and his wife an instructor in the department.

Seniors To Meet For Graduation Planning

The senior class will meet tomorrow at 4 p.m. in 317 McGilvary. Frank Carroll Jr., class president, asks all seniors graduating through June to attend as they discuss the cost of graduation and purchase of commencement announcements.
