CPT Training Applications Due Today Special Notice

Applications for admittance to the Civilian Pilot Training Program must be filed by 1 p.m. today. Freshmen are excluded due to a miscommunication, conflicting with a prior States publication. Gene Moulton will not play Uncle Tom in University Theater's Uncle Tom's Cabin due to outside work and studies. John Proctor will test for the lead as production notes name Bob Hauser as Simon Legree and Elizabeth Gorlich as Topsey with Suzanne Martin as Little Eva and Ruth West as Fiza. The show uses A E Thomas revised 23 scene script based on Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Opera Tickets On Sale For Three Cleveland Performances

Reservations for three upcoming operas at the public auditorium in Cleveland are available at the University. Alvin J. Miller says tickets are handled for students and faculty in room 110 Kent Hall. Lily Pons stars in The Daughter of the Regiment on April 16, Kirsten Flagstad in Die Walküre on April 17, and Helen Jepson in Faust on April 19.

Akron Reserve Officer Addresses Class Here

Captain C. D. Riggle of the reserve field artillery spoke to Akron business students urging college men to join the armed forces. He described paths to become an officer, noted military life requires guts and toughness, and said many officers can rise quickly while some never reach that rank. He is a claim referee for Ohio's Industrial Commission and expects to be called to active duty before June.

Visiting Speech Instructor Praises KSU Dramatists

Miss Anne Cooke praised the KSU drama students during her week long visit as she prepared to direct the final public production at 8 15 tonight in the University auditorium. She recalled Moscow theater tours in 1936 and warned cultural crises recur across eras. She said wartime pressures may slow theater work but not stop it and noted she will depart Saturday for Olivet College in Michigan, alma mater of Jeanne Parrish.
