Photographers from across the nation will attend the Kent campus March 5 to 9 for the Third Annual Short Course in News Photography. Leading authorities include Jack Price A L Hecht and Stanley Barnett with a GE Nela Park dinner and multiple flash demos. Registration runs now with fees 5 3 and 5 for dark room instruction.
About thirty representatives from campus organizations met with Bob Cook, chairman of the Student Union building committee, to explain and discuss problems facing the construction of a Student Union at Kent State University. The meeting aimed to gauge student reaction through student leaders.
Kent Golden Flashes clinch Portage County basketball crown with a 36-32 victory over Hiram Terriers at Hiram. Wayne Griffith, Max Conner, and Joe Price lead Kent with eight points each, while Hank Day tops scoring with ten for Hiram. Kent sealed the win after a late 30 second sequence.
Kent State University will offer a summer session curriculum workshop for experienced teachers. Dean Frew Musselman said the course aims to solve school problems through practical seminars with expert leaders, group direction, mutual critique, and peer exchange.
Prof William Taylor chair of journalism will speak on The A B C s of Elementary Journalism to the journalism section of the Northeastern Ohio Teachers association in Canton on Friday April 23 at 2 30 p m. Margaret Born of Chicago NL and Elementary Press association board invited him to judge the first three magazines in this year s contest.
The university infirmary filled to capacity as three more students were admitted to the flu epidemic yesterday. New arrivals are Ira Crile Charlotte Volk and William Starn increasing the tally to fifteen.
Dr. W. G. Meinke will address the International Relations club tomorrow at 7 30 PM in the N E library on The Foreign Policy of the United States. New members added include Lillian Kochenderfer Ernestine Baumgardner Herman Rosenthal Robert McElroy Battelle Masters and Edward R Moore.
Portage county health commissioner Dr. P. L. Harris will address the University Biology Club on the subject Social Diseases. The talk is scheduled for 4 p m on Wednesday February 28 in room 211K.
