A university campus tale describes remodeling that moved a water fountain, changing the outlet angle. Students and faculty adapt by twisting to avoid a noseful while learning the new drinking habit amid dry mouths and wet noses.
ST presents three student directed plays at 7:30 in 119 Kent. Miss Pulie stars Jackie Gelbman and Si Lee. The Marriage Proposal, a Russian comedy, features Jan Hallam Sam Wolfe and Bob Evans. The Game of Chess, a psychological murder play, stars John Watt Bob Smith and John Lioce. Twenty freshmen have appeared this season.
Dr. C. V. L. Narayan United Nations member from India will discuss Students In India Today at the Union ballroom. The event is sponsored by the Kent Council on World Affairs with Todd Fenn as chairman. Public invited.
Eight churches start Ash Wednesday services today through Easter with varied observances including noon prayer meetings and special Masses. Catholic, Congregational, Methodist, Episcopal, and First Christian churches schedule daily Masses, Stations of the Cross, and Week of Compassion events. A campus Lenten devotional booklet by Kent State University leaders debuts March 5 ahead of Easter, with purchase locations in the campus area.
Photos of couples who attended the annual Military ball at Meyers Lake in Canton will be distributed today between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Union lounge.
Students urged to turn trial programs into the Registrar's office after department sign in. Atkinson notes all trial programs must be completed and submitted by Friday 4 p.m. Sophomores sign in today while freshmen and late registrants have Thursday and Friday to present their forms to departments.
Applications for editor and business manager positions of the Burr and Stater are now available in the school of journalism office at 114 Merrill. Forms must be completed and returned by 4 p.m. Thursday.
Miss Berry styled fashions to suit college women on and off campus with selections for older ladies. University coeds from various dorms model the outfits while Panhellenic members participate. Mrs Martyn Jenkins assists with home economics input and Wilda Peterson provides piano music. Roseann Minchak leads decorations and Margie Owen arranges the overall event.
