Eleven Prospective Dukes Sponsored In Chi Omega Drive
The Duke of Kent elections run from yesterday to tomorrow noon under Chi Omega sponsorship. A trophy will be awarded at the Akron-Kent game Saturday to the candidate with the most votes. Voting uses pennies in slots. stuffing is encouraged. last year’s Stadium drive raised 237 dollars. Competitors include Ben Apple, Jim Crisp, Dick Ellers, Fred Green, Fred Klaisner, Al Ragon ese, Warren Sanders, Bob Sheddon, Paul Snyder, Irv Wheatly, and more, with sponsors and groups listed.

Varsity Ball Tickets Go On Sale At Booster Booth
Tickets for the Varsity Ball go on sale February 28 at the Booster booth and run through March 11. Members pay $1 per couple and non members $1.50. Janet Redmond handles downtown Booster sales and Terry Atkinson organizes the intermission show. Ray Robinson and his orchestra are contracted. The dance runs 9 to 12 at East Market Gardens Akron and is open to the public.

UT Casts First Children's Show at University Theater
The University of Utah announces its first children's theater production, Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, to be directed by Assistant Professor Earle Curtis. Tryouts are today and tomorrow from 3 to 5 p.m. in Kent Hall, Kent Hall theater office, third floor. Professor E Turner Stump aims to establish a regular children’s theater program.

ROTC Masque Ball and Dance Brighten Long Weekend

A one day safety conference for industrial arts teachers and vocational education supervisors opens with registration at 1 p.m. in the industrial arts building. Delegates will split into three working groups at 3 p.m. to address general shop safety, metal shop safety, and automotive safety led by Tischendorf Marschik and Paton.

Navy Display Highlights Aero Nautical Equipment at Akron
Navy Shows Latest In Equipment Akron Naval Air Reserve exhibited nearly one million dollars of aero nautical gear in Moulton hall Music room. Jet engines hydraulic and carburetor systems gyro compasses and instruments were shown along with electrical systems aerial photography gear and emergency equipment. The exhibit reflected training progress at the Akron station where recruits can join with minimal conflict with civilian work. Trainees serve two days a month with four days pay and two weeks yearly in actual service.

An exhibit in Merrill Hall features Life magazine photographs paintings and drawings on Britain's stand against Nazis in 1940. Prepared by Life editors and the university History department the display titled Their Finest Hour coincides with Life's publication of Churchill's second memoir volume.
