College Press Association To Meet Here April 24 27

Seven university faculty members attend the seventieth annual meeting of the North American Association of School Administrators in St. Louis Missouri. The convention runs February 24 to 29 with the theme Safety Education. A list of faculty attendees includes Dr L H Munzenmayer Dean Frew Musselman Dr John L Blair Dr Mary L Smallwood Miss Jeanne Parrish Miss Katherine Klink and Miss Frances Maisch. The eleventh general session will be broadcast on America's Town Meeting of the Air Thursday February 29 at 745 PM.

Unemployment Study by Kent State Students at Ohio Conference

Ten Kent State University students and other Ohio delegates will study campus unemployment at the State Student YMCA and YWCA conference on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus. College employment statistics will be discussed and a tour of the Columbus employment bureau slum areas and rehousing projects will follow.

Ohio College Newspaper association revival announces four day spring convention at Kent State University from April 24 to 27. Kent Stater hosts with Jack Watts as executive secretary. Akron Cleveland editors and college reps will participate including Lynn Holcomb Bob Stopher and Ed Bang.

Flying Students Reach 200 Hour Mark at Kent College

Kent University aviators report 17 solo flyers and 40 students have surpassed 200 total flight hours. Sixty hours solo are included in the group total while 1,920 hours of ground instruction have been completed. Weather tests include fog wind rain and ice as instructors praise rapid progress.

Easter Monday Classes Cancelled Statement

E C Stopher announced no Easter Monday classes with instruction resuming after the holiday on Tuesday March 26. The notice specifies no sessions on Easter Monday and a return to normal schedule the following day.

Seniors Set Dues Plan 1940 Prom

The senior class met in the training school auditorium to set dues at 1.50 and discuss the Junior-Senior prom. The Mayflower hotel in Akron was chosen as site but the date remains undecided. President Gordon Hostettler formed a planning committee: Ernestine Baumgardner chair, with Bob Wilson Myron Lawrence Bonita Muncer Merritt Wolfe Millie Maxa and Virginia Frederick.

Miss Dorothy Sherman from an Akron department store gave an informal talk Monday evening at Moulton hall. She also demonstrated the proper way to apply makeup.

Twenty Eight Scholarships To Be Awarded At Kent State

Twenty eight four year scholarships will be available for freshmen entering Kent State University next fall. Prof. S A Harbourt, chairman of the awards committee, announced today. Scholastic records and financial need will be considered in making recommendations to Pres K C Lee Brick. Each scholarship is worth 240 dollars. General scholarships number twenty, with eight in music, speech, art, and journalism.
