The Kent State Student Council upheld a social committee decision restricting ticket sales to the university campus for the Chestnut Burr dance featuring Charlie Spivak's orchestra. The move preserves on campus use and avoids commercializing the university name.
The Photo Short Course invites students to serve as guides for attending photographers and to assist in hanging exhibits. Noted speakers include Henry Shigeta on Composition and Robert Dumke on Color. Everett Norlander and Andrew Miller will discuss their papers on Skid Row.
Students may register for Russian 160 161 or advanced Russian in spring quarter at the office of foreign languages 308K. Russian 160 requires at least 18 students to be taught and neither 160 nor 161 will be offered in summer. Both courses are five hours each with 160 from 12 to 1 pm and 161 from 2 to 3 pm, and neither appears in the current schedule.
The university expects fuel to last eight or nine days as Canton Coal, its supplier, dumps loads on the road during a strike. Maintenance chief Larry Wooddell says over 400 tons are on hand in the silo and stock piles and expects no nationwide strike impact. Workers use stockpile coal to fill the silo.
The Allocations committee will hold its last meeting of the quarter at 4 p.m. today. Chairman Herbert Kaley announced the event.
