Pledge totals rise as stadium drive starts
A first day pledge of 665 toward University Memorial Stadium boosts the total to 2353 with 113 pledged before opening and 1575 from student activity funds. Drive leaders note the response is strong but under 100 pledge cards returned and contributions skew male. Donations of 15 or more come from Don E. Smith John P. The Sixth Annual Buckeye Debate Tournament at the university on February 14 will feature 32 colleges and universities from Ohio Indiana and Pennsylvania. About 280 debaters will tackle the question Resolved that a Federal World Government should be Established. Last year 23 entries made the event the largest inter collegiate debate contest in Ohio.
