Freshman Will Reign At Third Military Ball

Jean Ryder, a freshman in the college of liberal arts, named Honorary Cadet Colonel by ROTC. She will reign over the Corps Third Annual Military Ball on February 21 at Akron East Market Gardens. Three other women named Honorary Lieutenant Colonels are Joan O'Hara Coletta Vance and Marilyn Thow. Elliot Lawrence Orchestra will provide music with Rosalind Patton and Jack Hunter as vocalists. Tickets are five dollars per couple, corsage included, available from ROTC members.

Freshmen in Education Must Complete OSU Psych Test

Professor Robert I. White Jr says all freshmen entering the College of Education must take the Ohio State University Psychological test to satisfy admission requirements. The exam is slated for next Tuesday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the University School Auditorium with guidance office 208K handling details.

Conference for Northeastern Ohio School Clerks Set

Board clerks from Northeastern Ohio will gather at the University School auditorium from 1 30 to 4 pm for a briefing by three state education officials from Columbus. The seminar covers bond of the clerk duties minutes and required reports with Dr Roger M Shaw as local chairman.

Student Council Replaces Members and Approves Purchases

At its weekly meeting the student council accepted Bill McGaw as representative to the allocations committee replacing Wilbur Proctor who resigned. Sally Schell resigned from the elections committee and Patty Sheaff will replace her. President Irv Wheatley urged Treasurer Gerald Ott to buy 700 dinks for sale to freshmen next fall, adding 150 caps on hand will complete the supply.

UT tryouts today for play School for Husbands

Initial tryouts for UT's production School for Husbands start today in the speech office from 2 to 5 p.m. under Prof. G Harry Wright. The show, produced in New York by the New York Theater Guild in 1933, is set for April 20 21 and 22 with 35 cast members. It was adapted by Langner and Guiterman from a 1662 Moliere French comedy and features a complete musical score of that period.

Donaghy Local Merchant Dies of Heart Attack

Roy H. Donaghy owner of W. H. Donaghy Drug Co and part owner of Campus Supply store died of a heart attack Tuesday evening at his home 182 N Prospect Street. He served two terms as president of the Kent Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Zeta Gamma Sigma Nu. Funeral services set for 1 30 p.m. Friday at Bissler Funeral Home.

Mexican Art Paintings by Children Exhibit at Gallery

The Art department will exhib it Mexican children’s paintings in the gallery between Kent hall and the Atrium from Monday Feb 13 through Friday March 3. Current display features Hans Mueller woodcuts, a graphic artist and book illustrator.

Requests Dues at KSU Junior Class Promises Big Year

Junior class advisor Paul C. Kitchin Jr says paying dues can make the class among the university’s greatest, with programs planned by officers and committees. Activities include a Hard Times party on March 3 and a Junior-Senior Prom on May 29, with dues paying juniors getting free tickets.
