Marge Choate reports three finalists Pat Hadley Jo Harper and Joan Leguillon chosen for Miss Kent State. The queen will be announced at intermission of the Top Hop Saturday by Bob Weber. A total of 1244 votes were cast in yesterday's election.
Groups enter Pork Barrel have set a practice and elimination schedule with a five dollar deposit due to Mary Lou Noel. Rehearsals run Monday and Tuesday at American Commons club and other houses with 15 minute eliminations next Wednesday and Thursday. The student stunt night is Friday February 15 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium with no admission fee and at the door donations for charity.
WKSU FM in cooperation with AAUW presents three programs during Know Your Constitution Week to explain the Ohio state constitution and its effects. The series aims to inform voters ahead of next May’s constitutional convention vote. The first program aired last night. the second will discuss contents of the constitution with a panel including Dr. Mona Fletcher and James G. France.
Tryouts for the Studio theatre one act plays will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. today in 119 K. Three plays to be cast are The Marriage Proposal Chekhov Miss Julie Strindberg and The Game of Chess Goodman. Directors Colleen Messmore Dale Bruchbuhler and Dick Weinman urge students to compete for roles and offer a chance to learn stage and playwriting acting and directing.
The local Society for Advancement of Management chapter will admit women students in the College of Business Administration for membership. Eligible applicants need a 2.5 cumulative and sophomore standing. A meeting is set for Thursday at 7 30 p.m. in 212 McGilvrey with a United States Steel speaker.
The Inter fraternity council adjourned with members divided over notification for the rush list and a proposed special rush day. Emil Kernasovich urged earlier notices while Chi Alpha sought local fraternity status and pledged two preparatory smokers if approved.
The Booster club will fund track squad members to the 174th Regimental games in Buffalo on February 16. Greek night features Kent versus Western Michigan basketball with Greeks under their banners, pickup 6–7 p.m. Leap Night stamp dance on February 29 in Wills gym offers free admission for members and fifty cents for outsiders.
Bud Mays leads the Duke of Kent ballot on Tuesday with 3.31 dollars. He is sponsored by Delta Tau Delta and Delta Gamma. Jerry Frazier of Theta Kappa Phi is second with 3.12 dollars. Other contestants follow in order with smaller sums. proceeds benefit Chi Omega for a university project.
The annual Kappa Sigma Rascals dance scheduled for Friday evening has been postponed due to a date conflict at the hall.
