The University board of trustees filled posts naming a dormitory head resident and a publications head. Two music scholarships were awarded to Rosella Dull and Margaret Horton, with one arts scholarship to Edgar Chapman. Dorothy Thompson and Harry Adams received leaves of absence as Adams heads to Navy service. Irene Smith was named Engleman head resident. Isabelle Reid and Dale Rooks resigned. Orchestra Extends Radio Broadcasts To Northeast Ohio Festival
The University orchestra under Kenneth Byler appeared yesterday on the WADC radio workshop program. It played Let Freedom Ring for class CC and The Tower Prince for class C schools as part of high school festival preparations. Adelaide Snyder and Bob Telford performed in a dramatic reading by Miss Snyder with Stan Mouse reporting news from nearby campuses.

Committee Action Cancels NTFC Musical Production
The third annual production No Time For Classes was cancelled after a unanimous committee vote to drop it for the duration. Prof. G Harry Wright chaired the faculty panel and cited lack of tangible reasons for this year’s show. Don Harris resigned as producer on January 13.

HPE Majors Offered Posts As Army Navy Instructors
Two opportunities for physical education majors to join the armed services as instructors were outlined in letters to Prof. George Altman. The Navy aviation program seeks instructors to train pilots at induction centers with a chief petty officer rating and $95 monthly pay plus living expenses. The Army Air Force Combat Command plans to recruit 44 civilian applicants as first lieutenants in charge of physical education at air bases, requiring strong qualifications and graduate study in the field. Navy positions may accept well-qualified undergraduates.

Tickets Ready for University Play Invitation to Murder
Arrangements for distributing tickets for the University production Invitation to Murder were announced by new manager Bill Guisewite at dress rehearsal. Tickets go on sale today and tomorrow at the ticket office in front of Wills gym for Thursday and Friday performances. A 1:45 pm matinee is set for Saturday for high school day. War measures of colleges described by Ohio university leaders
Dr. K C Leebrick president of the University led a meeting in Columbus with 44 Ohio colleges where 31 reported concrete war measures. They include longer summer sessions heavier loads more flexible enrollment and credit for service. Kent State adds an intersession three week period new courses and individual credit considerations for those entering service.

Marines to Send Recruiter to Campus Next Week
A U S Marine Corps representative will be on the campus February 11 and 12 to interview students for commissions as second lieutenants. Lt. Arthur Wyman from the Cleveland recruiting office will interview seniors, juniors, and sophomores ages 18 to 24 seeking information about the Marines. Juniors and sophomores admitted will get draft deferment to finish college, then be called to active duty for the duration of the national emergency. Assembly Speaker Reacts to Air Raid Siren During Lecture
Dr Reinhold Schairer former head of the University of London International Relations department paused as an air raid siren sounded in the auditorium. He urged youth in America and Europe to build a cooperative peace order and to study plan and act together. He will lecture at northern Ohio universities this week and return Saturday to lead a conference of university representatives.
