Morning's At Seven cast announced at university

Nine students have roles in the University production Morning's At Seven by Paul Osborne directed by E. Turner Stump head of the school of speech. Cast includes Dave Ryan Ed Suvanto Arlene Riggle Mary Haines Viola Cian Doris Stuart Oliver Ocasek Joan Shremp and Ted Baskin. Performance set for February 8 at 8 15 p m in the University auditorium.

Upper Classes Plan Popularity Dance

George Inscho announced that sophomore class dues will be 75 cents per quarter for winter and spring. no fall dues. Earlier in the week juniors voted one dollar dues for the next two quarters. The three classes plan a joint Popularity Ball, but plans remain incomplete.

Glee Club Presents Annual Christmas Assembly of Carols

The University women's glee club presents a Christmas program December 20 at 10 a m in the University auditorium. Harold Miles will be organist with Lorayne Shumway on piano. Miss Elfreda Littlejohn conducts the group performing Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones Sleep Holy Child The Song of the Angels and The Star Spangled Banner with community singing featured. Classes will be excused and attendance taken.

Cleveland Reporter Recalls Warfront Experiences At Talk

Cleveland Plain Dealer correspondent Roekif Loveland described bombardments by German buzz-bombs the nerves of G I Joes under fire and British gallantry during an assem bly program at the University auditorium. The event tied to the Sixth War Loan drive and featured former Governor Martin L. Davey and Robert C. Dix with registrar E C Stopher introducing them. Roy Metcalf led the University band before Loveland spoke.

Schedule RW Return On Akron Station

After two years' absence the Radio Workshop returns with its first broadcast January 13 at 11 45 a m over WAKR Akron. Opal Wigner says the program will be weekly and a student poetry series is planned with submissions due to Janet Harris by 4 p m Monday December 18.

Holiday Dance Planned Tomorrow by Union and League

Tickets still on sale by the Men's Union and Women's League executive boards for the Christmas formal tomorrow night. Co chairmen George Papp and Marty Forsberg expect a fine turnout and a terrific time. Decorations by Elsie Stalzer will match the holiday theme in the Moulton hall music room.

Library due dates announced for university materials

Weldon Williams acting librarian announced all borrowed books magazines and materials must be returned by December 20. He added grades will not be released until library records are clear.

University Dance Headlines Yuletide Festivities

The scene of the affair runs from 9 to 12 p m with automatic one o clock permits for University women attending. Cal Trents orchestra is engaged for the yuletide festivities. Guests include President and Mrs George A Bowman Dean and Mrs John L Blair Dean and Mrs Arden Allyn and Dean and Mrs Earl Crecraft. Messiah Oratorio to Be Performed at University

The sixth presentation of Handel's Messiah will be at the University auditorium Sunday December 17 at 3 30 p m under the direction of George Gove Assistant Professor of Music. About 160 voices will sing with 100 students from the choir and the women’s glee club and citizens from Kent Ravenna and nearby communities. Solo parts will be sung by Mrs P A Eichenlaub Mrs W S Shepherd Russell Abbott and Harold Haugh with Roy D Metcalf directing a 33 piece orchestra for the overture pastoral symphony and chorus accompaniment.

Pre-Registration Begins For Upperclassmen

E C Stopher registrar announced pre-registration for the winter quarter starts today. Only juniors and seniors may plan their class programs this morning unless printed schedules arrive. Monday and Tuesday are tentatively set for further pre-registration with fees accepted on Tuesday.

NTFC Reaches 250 Dollar Goal for Show Funds

NTFC announced it hit its 250 dollar target Wednesday with Bud Gerber as producer. Suzanne Schwartz appointed Barbara Berkey Earl Stewart and Barbara McDowell to handle tickets. Publicity by Lillian Sokoll and Helen Platt. Glenna Hopewell named scenic artist. Chorus line progress noted. Rehearsal today at 4 p m.

University groups must submit constitutions by December 20

Betty Brown, chairman of the central committee of clubs, announced that organizations lacking official Student Council recognition or those revising constitutions since last year must file them with the Student Council office by Wednesday, December 20.

In the first heavy snowfall Kent State students rush about seeking ski boots slacks and earmuffs. Dorms and sororities buzz as they plan snowballing skiing and tobogganing sessions. The snow triggers campus mischief with sledging and raucous campus riders while townsfolk stay by their fires.
