Martin L. Davey Sr chairs the stadium committee aiming to complete the middle section with the main gate in the foreground by next football season. To date $7,400 of $75,000 has been pledged.
Psi chapter hosts a regional Phi Alpha Theta history honorary meeting in Moulton hall with Dr. A Sellen Roberts as toastmaster at the banquet. Dr W L Wannemacher moderates the 10 am session and Robert Lengacher chairs luncheon as nine schools from Pennsylvania Ohio and Michigan attend. Delegates arrive from Pittsburgh Ohio State Waynesburg College Wooster Toledo Westminster Muskingum Washington Jefferson Michigan State for morning and afternoon sessions in the music room plus a 12:30 luncheon and 6 pm banquet at Robin Hood.
The American Veterans committee offers reinstatement for veterans whose G I insurance policies lapsed. Service is available today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a table in Merrill hall.
John Finn a junior journalism major will be editor of the Kent Stater for the winter quarter with William Saviers, a rising accounting major, as business manager. Both appointments were approved by President George A. Bowman.
Blue Key national service honorary will tap 15 new members after the Messiah performance in the atrium. The selectees are Donald Warman Wally Krivoy Clarence Dover Roy Newsome Alvin Weekley Bob Rector Tom Davey William Hugo William Moritz Curt Sarff John Forrest John Finn Robert White Dick Paskett and William Wolf. A banquet will follow at 6:30 p.m. at Robin Hood, per John Thomas.
Students may submit cheers to the Stater office for the team. Entries are judged by the cheerleaders and winners named in the Stater. No prizes offered.
Unusual student and town interest builds toward Sunday's performance of Handel's The Messiah by the university music department. The two hour event at 3 p.m. in Will gym features 250 singers, the full orchestra, and soloists Lillian Wilkinson Sonia Essin Myron Taylor and Gordon Gaines with Roberta Sollberger on organ. Tickets on sale downtown and in Ravenna at local shops.
Graduate students photographed for the Chestnut Burr must return their proofs to the Bransby studio by the end of next week, with earlier returns preferred.
Ohio State coach Wes Fesler will headline a Memorial Stadium drive assembly at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the university auditorium. Martin L. Davey Jr. chairs the drive and will outline the program. other speakers include President George A. Bowman and Senator Morrison.
Registrar Emmet C Stopher said distribution of program cards will occur Monday or once eligibility checks finish. He called the new process working admirably ensuring equal class sizes and ease of late enrollment.
