Fifth Fraternity Goes National at Kent Installation
The Friars club at the university was installed as the Phi chapter of Theta Kappa Phi, the Catholic men's national fraternity. Banquet at St. Patrick's school auditorium featured Dr. George Bowman and Rev. John W. Cunningham among principals, with Curtis F. Bayer and Salvatore A. Gatti. Monsignor Clarence E. Elwell delivered the main address. The group, formed in 1947 as a social club, plans a nationwide expansion with a Sunday reception closing the ceremonies.
