Kent State finished second among 15 Ohio colleges in the Football for Defense pageant held between halves of the KSU vs John Carroll game. Xavier won 150 dollars, Wooster took third, with Case, Ohio Wesleyan, Ohio University and Baldwin Wallace also competing. In the high school division Mes sillon claimed first, Van Wert second, Cleveland Heights third.

Busses Resume Commuter Service Between Kent and Akron

Education College Adopts Spanish Major and Curriculum Changes
The curriculum committee of the college of education approved a Spanish major and increased the visual arts course for juniors from two to three hours. Dean Dr John L Blair announced the changes and English 367 will be required for a minor. Credit for the Civilian Pilot Training program was approved.

Deans recorded 670 students ineligible due to low scholarship leading to 30 percent of 2,250 enrollment on ineligibility. An unofficial count by the Stateer placed about 710 ineligible with probation, low averages, and nine week deficiencies forming the main causes.
