Four-Year Scholarships Awarded to 28 Graduates

Twenty eight high school graduates receive four year scholarships covering a $360 value in registration fees. Eligibility requires top tenth in class and top fifth on Ohio State University Psychology exam. Dr Dexter Lectures On KSU Chimney Swifts

Dr Ralph W Dexter of the biology department outlines four years of study on chimney swifts at Kent Hall roof. He will speak August 11 to the Cape Ann scientific association in Gloucester on Home Life of the Chimney Swift and present a September paper to the American Ornithologists Union in Toronto on Territoriality mating behavior and nesting of the Chimney Swift.

Prodigy Pianist Doris Webster Shows Early Musical Rise

Fredericksburg gifted pianist Doris Webster earns wide praise after a 1946 Washington DC symphony solo. She began piano lessons in May 1944 with Mrs. Drake, gave a Mary Washington College chapel recital, and later a full auditorium concert. Dr Raleigh Drake leads psychology at Kent State. the couple recently resided near Virginia.

Graduate John H. Olson Becomes Akron Junior Sanitary Engineer

John H. Olson, a June graduate and chemistry major, has taken the post of junior sanitary engineer for Akron at the Lake Rockwell filtration plant. He lives in Stow with his wife and daughter and served 36 months in the armed forces during WWII, including time as a B-24 navigator in Europe.
