Outstanding University Mother to be Chosen by Stater Staff

The second annual event selects four Queen Mothers for Stater editions with entries limited to 150 words. Three faculty members will join editors in judging. The No. 1 mother will be named May 9 and honored May 11 by States Staff Member Bob Blumer with a gift.

George Apley Pleased Crowd With Spring Budget Allocations

The budgeting committee approved a $21 829 spring quarter fund allocation for student activities and sent it to the Student Council for Monday afternoon approval. To cover a $734 gap the group used $300 from the NTFC fund, forcing four cuts including $241 from varsity athletics and $65 from intramurals, plus voluntary reductions of $378 from the band and $50 from the choir.

Phi Gamma Theta Seeks Local Charter for Kent Chapter

Interfraternity Council heard an explanation of the Phi Gamma Theta group by George Hoy, who plans to petition for a local fraternity charter at the next meeting on Apr 30. The request to become Kent's eighth fraternity was referred to a sub committee by the Sorority Fraternity Policy committee. An investigation committee led by Betty Hoy, Roy Apple and Bob Hoyt will report next week.

Scholarship Tests Scheduled For 600 Students May 3

Final district scholarship tests will be held on the campus Saturday May 3. A total of 600 students from multiple schools will take high school subject tests with Dr A W Sewart leading the planning alongside Drs Chap man Harshbarger Cunningham and Ballard Brady Hercick.
