Publications Hop Closes Social Week in Akron

The Publications Hop ends a busy social week at Wills gym this Saturday from 9 to 12. Bill Lewis and his orchestra, a top Akron act, will headline for hundreds of visiting high school students. Tickets cost 25 cents and are sold in fraternity and sorority houses the atrium and by journalism students.

Student council push seeks building plan and costs

The drive aims to gather information on building type and maintenance costs. A committee led by Ed Zink Kay Maloney Don Taylor and Jane Stroup will collect suggestions from students. The student council has entered the drive and will meet every Tuesday at 4 p m to hear proposals.

No Time For Classes Premieres Tonight At Kent Theater

Campus Night Date Ratified At Kent State

Kent State University confirms Campus Night on Monday May 20 after a dispute between the student council and administration. The festival will crown a May queen and feature a maypole dance and a universitywide parade, ending with a campus dance at Wills Gymnasium. Late permits extend to 12:30 for university women.

Kent Stater Receives First Class Rating

The Kent Stater, a first class college newspaper, earned 650 points out of 1000 in the All-America ratings by the Associated Collegiate Press. Four hundred six papers from 43 states were rated. The Stater led in its enrollment class, scoring higher than last year.
