Unopposed Council MU nominees face tomorrow's election
Student voters will choose Council and MU board officers and class reps with a 9 am to 4 pm poll above the atrium. Nominees for Council and MU offices run unopposed, while class representatives use a preferential ballot. Nineteen Scholarships Awarded to University Freshmen
Nineteen freshmen received scholarships at two scholarships committee meetings. Each award covers a $20 quarterly entrance fee and runs renewable with a 3.0 average. Editor Jean Lenner announced a six-picture limit on sorority entries for the Chest nut Burr queen contest. Marine Sgt Moore Killed on Iwo Jima February 28 1945
Marine Sgt Harris Moore, a University of Liberal Arts student in 1940 41 from Bellaire, reported killed in action on Iwo Jima February 28 1945. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1941 just after Pearl Harbor.
