KSU Hosts Fourth Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Press Clinic

Kent State University will host the fourth annual Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Press Clinic on April 26. H. C. Lehman will preside, with Betty Crampton directing this year’s dramatized news event. Contest prizes include the School of Journalism trophy for best student story and a feature story contest. The event features round table discussions led by journalism faculty high school instructors and newspapermen, a sunset dance at Wills Gym, and a banquet at Twin Lakes country club with guest speaker Jack Raper of the Cleveland Press.

Dr Lemert to Lose Appendix on Vacation

Dr Edwin Lemert, sociology instructor, left last Friday for Cincinnati for an appendicitis operation. He was accompanied by Mrs Lemert, announced by Dr James T Laing, head of the sociology department.

Faculty To Attend Meetings Visit And Just Plain Relax

Faculty members plan meetings, travel, and leisure during spring break. Hazel Swan will supervise gardening at 132 Wilson Avenue while visiting Cleveland venues with Jeanne Parrish and Beulah Grow. Meinke, Rowlen, and others will attend meetings in Chicago, Columbus, Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, and Toledo.

Six Debaters Head South For Tourney

Six members of the school of speech left yesterday morning for Rock Hill South Carolina for the Grand Eastern Speech tournament to be held Thursday through Saturday. Scheduled to compete are John Powell Joe Hart Tom Rickey Carol Sayers Marjorie Jacot and Jewell Hardman with Prof E Turner Stump and James N Holm accompanying the group.

Coffey Outlines Firefighter Defense Against Sabotage

FBI agent E. P. Coffey told 750 firefighters at the first annual Fire Fighters Institute to remain vigilant against sabotage in America. He outlined steps for handling a bomb in public places and explained why water can trigger explosions and how gasoline can disrupt timing and circuits.

NTFC tune Last Summer Moon will debut to University students as Johnny Lemak's Dukes of Kent perform for dancers at the Newman club formal April 19. The show features No Time For Classes and a campus orchestra will accompany dancing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets go on sale after Easter in the atrium with a $25 prize for Greek members competing.

Library closes at 5 p m today then reopens Monday

The University library will close at 5 p m today and reopen at 6 p m Monday April 14. Librarian Miss Margaret Dunbar announces the temporary change.

Kramel Named Illinois Graduate Assistant

Leonard Kramel, Chestnut Burr manager and senior in liberal arts, is appointed graduate assistant at the University of Illinois starting next September. He holds a 3.7 average and will teach physics classes while pursuing graduate work. He is married and active in the Physical Science club Delta Phi Sigma Blue Key and electronics interests.

Sintetos Family Sends Three Sons To Aid Democracy

The Sintetos family of Ashtabula contributes three sons to military service and support for democracy. Nick Sintetos enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Toronto after being rejected by the U S air force. Gus Sintetos, stationed with KSA, awaits a U S army call at Shelby.
