Library Receives Rare Roumanian Collection as Gift
Ray Metzinger reports a valuable Roumanian books and objets d art gift to the Library for its permanent collection. Roy Baker Harris of the Library of Congress donated about 300 volumes linked to Queen Marie of Roumania and her era. The set includes private correspondence and manuscripts, with a dress worn by Marie and Ileana as a family heirloom.

Student Library Assistant Day at Northeastern Ohio
The second annual Student Library Assistant day will be in the University school auditorium on April 5 from 9 to 4. Library science students from Northeastern Ohio are invited. The program includes a panel on the student librarian in school, a Glee club, campus walking tour, Nora Benson talk, and a career lecture. Officers will be elected after the committee report, and registration opens at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Eckert to Help ACE Present Workshop

Allocators Split Budget For 18 Campus Groups In May Review
The Student Faculty Allocations committee set 25 800 dollars across 18 campus organizations after a two and a half hour meeting and will reconvene in May to review budget proportions for keys dinners and other items. The Burr yearbook received 5024 dollars while reporting a 1200 dollar October balance. Varsity athletics led with 7482 dollars and Kent Stater received 4221. Council kept 516 of its 700 request and faces limits on next fall's E Book spending. Orchestra funds were cut to 309.60 with two violas treated as a university expense. Radio Workshop saw a 50 dollar cut from 645, and six students will go to the Education by Radio Institute. Other allocations ranged from 208.13 to 1031.02 with totals including art 255 assembly 774 band 618.99 choir 560 entertainment 800 forensics 774 and more. University social committee got 1032 as its share per method but lacked full income from Campus day dance.

SC Plans Quiz Voting Laws Set
Student council held a special meeting to organize a plan interviewing 398 students about school improvements. The process ensures proportional representation of commuters and non commuters Greeks independents males and females. Candidates must file by April 8 and petitions are due today. Election booths will be alphabetic and voting requires an official ID card license or social security card. The most popular man and woman will be announced at the Popularity ball after elections.

Riflers Win Firing Prize At Miami
Kent Army ROTC rifle team won first place in a shoulder to shoulder match in Miami with 1321 points. Kent Air Force ROTC placed third, while Miami Air Force ROTC finished second and Miami Army ROTC last. Kent personnel included Capt William D Brown Capt Wesley Egan and 1st Lt William T Mason. They flew to Miami on a Navy R4D and stayed at a local officers club before returning to Akron.
