WAA Honors Winter Sport Award Winners and Leaders
The Women's Athletic Association held its annual awards in the WAA room with 50 attendees. Theta Sigma Upsilon led in participation cups, 25 women cited for winter sport achievements, and Kathleen Keeley won ping pong while Jane Stroup topped badminton.

Newman Club Dance Plans Set at Lake Country Club
The Newman club chose Lake Country Club for its annual spring dance on April 19. Johnny Lemak and his Dukes of Kent along with No Time For Classes orchestra will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. This marks the campus band’s first open-dance appearance sponsored by the university. Intermission features a NTFC preview by Stan Mouse and Bill Guisewite.

Lambda Phi Bi Monthly Meeting Plans Banquet and Votes

Scented Ink Adopts Spring Fashion Theme
The Kent Stater prints with scented ink for its Spring Fashion edition marking a novelty in eastern college papers. The scented ink was first used on November 1, 1939 when a perfume company supplied ink for the Indianapolis Star advertisement.

Nearly 90 percent of eligible voters participated with 457 ballots cast. Marge Stepfield won by 64 votes over Roberta White, while Bill O Keefe led the runner up by 60 votes. Edna Finney finished third as the tall and handsome O Keefe drew strong support from Lowry hall residents. Ray Gallagher called the election a model of clean campus politics as posters are restricted and a large bulletin board is planned for Wills gym.

Carol Sayers, a KSU debater, won the Women's extemporaneous championship at the Bi-Annual Provincial Convention of Pi Kappa Delta at Michigan State University East Lansing. The university’s women’s team finished second while the men’s team lost to Heidelberg, which won the masculine title.
