Designed in modern steel and brick, it will seat 9 000 to 10 000 with permanent bleachers and a 9 000 to 10 000 capacity. It will house health and physical education classes, varsity athletic offices, handball courts, a main floor pool, and locker rooms. President Bowman cites urgent need as nearly 6 000 students used inadequate facilities last year.

Enrollment Figures Show Drop in Veterans and Freshmen

Walton D. Clarke assistant professor of speech and radio workshop director will be wordmaster for the 1949 Akron Beacon Journal spelling bee set for April 29 in Akron Central High school auditorium. Clarke has taught speech and radio here since 1946 and previously taught at Missouri State college and Milton college. He is a Milton college graduate with a master's from the University of Wisconsin and he announced for KWTO radio in Springfield for two years.

Miss Grayco hails from Tacoma Washington and is a former chief songbird for Stan Kenton Hal McIntyre and others. Doodles Weaver, a Stanford alumnus, played football on the first string. Both he and Spike are said to be slightly crazy about midget autos.
