Kansas City Negroes Organize Protective League
Representative Negroes met at Hueston and Calloway offices to form the Negro Protective League of Missouri, aiming to oppose Jim Crow measures in Missouri and in courts including the U S Supreme Court. Dr. William J. Thompkins was elected president at 1507 East Eighteenth Street, with Arthur W. Harris secretary and Charles H. Calloway treasurer. A delegation will travel to Jefferson City Monday for action, amid a bill restricting Negroes on railways, steamboats, hotels, theaters, and restaurants. Contributions requested for Calloway at headquarters.

Goose’s crop holds ten dollars and twenty-seven cents
John E. P. Ernst, chief clerk at a grocery store, killed a goose and found inside its crop a half dollar, twenty-six quarters, twenty-six dimes, thirteen nickels, and two pennies. The total savings totaled 10.27. The goose was a Christmas bonus from store employees. no refund was issued.

Marquess Case Dismissed at Langston College Hearing

Kid Bundy Fatally Shot in Pool Room Dispute
Buel Kid Bundy a 49 year old Negro watchman at the municipal market was shot twice during a revolver duel with Turner Henderson, a Negro porter, in a pool room at 208 East Sixth street after a money dispute. Bundy died Sunday after being taken to General hospital. He belonged to King of the West lodge No. 214 O B F. Funeral Sunday at Pleasant Green Baptist church. He leaves a son, a stepfather, a brother and many friends.
